FAQs

How can I become a member?
Contact us! You can call us at 801-953-2599 or email us at celebrationorch@gmail.com. We welcome newcomers, and we appreciate them even more when they let us know in advance that they're coming. That way, you and your music will be prepared for your first rehearsal.

When are rehearsals and concerts?
We rehearse on Thursday evenings from 7:00 to 9:30 pm at the Layton Community Center located at 448 N. 350 E. Layton, UT 84041. It is a white brick building north of the LDS seminary building next to Layton High School. The street sign says "Constitution Way" (most GPS apps refer to it as 350 E).

Concerts are held at different times and locations throughout the year. Check our events page for more information about upcoming concerts.

Are you accepting new members?
Yes! We're especially looking for brass and percussion players at the moment, but we'd love to have more players of almost any instrument join us. Please contact us to let us know what instrument you play so we can find the best place for you!

My instrument has been sitting in the closet for a few years, and I'm a little rusty. Is that okay?
Of course. We accept players of almost any experience level. That said, we like to play music that challenges us, and we ask all members to commit to 30 minutes of practice every week in addition to weekly rehearsals.

I'm in high school. Can I play with you?
Yes, we love it when students make music with us. We do have a rule, though, that if you're under 18, you need to bring a parent or other adult with you to rehearsals and concerts. So persuade Mom or Dad to dust off his or her old instrument, and bring them along!

Do you have any rules I need to know about?
We have just a few expectations to help keep things in order. See the list below.

This season, we have a few YouTube links to help you get familiar with the music we'll be playing at the concert. Please take a few minutes to listen and practice along!
